Thomas Barthold

Thomas Barthold (West High 1971) is currently the Acting Chief of Staff on the Joint Committee on Taxation for the U.S. Congress, Congress’s primary resource for technical and policy advice on taxation.
Barthold has authored over 20 publications on taxation and economics, and was an assistant professor in economics at Dartmouth and a teaching fellow in economics at Harvard prior to joining the Joint Committee staff.
Barthold currently resides in Layhill, MD.
