Douglas Towns (South High 1985) is an employment lawyer at Jones Day in Atlanta. In addition to practicing employment and labor law, publishing close to 40 legal articles, and conducting hundreds of speeches on employment law.

Towns is a private pilot for Angel Flight of Georgia, a nonprofit organization whose pilots provide free medical transportation to patients in need of life saving treatment at distant medical facilities. During Hurricane Katrina, Towns and Angel Flight flew food, supplies, and medical personnel to dozens of small towns in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

In addition, Towns serves as Angel Flight’s general counsel, and volunteers with multiple other organizations including the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, TEAM Georgia, ChrisKids, and the United Way.

Doug is also the pro bono coordinator for Jones Day’s Atlanta office where he developed the Special Education Advocacy Project to assist children with special educational needs.

Towns currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
