Kathleen (Higdon) Wilson (Central High 1969) was a noted political activist as Chair of the National Women’s Political Caucus for two terms in the early 1980s.
Wilson was named one of “America’s 100 Most Important Women” by the Ladies Home Journal and one of “Washington’s Most Influential” by Washington Magazine.
A thorn in Reagan’s side, she supported pro-choice activism and the Equal Rights Amendment. After raising her two children, she had a very successful career as the director of a preschool in Alexandria, Va. Wilson passed away in September 2005.
