Brad Warner is a 1976 graduate of North High. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 1982. He completed his residency in surgery at the University of Cincinnati Hospital and his fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. He currently lives in Cincinnati, OH.

Brad is an attending surgeon in the division of pediatric surgery at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati and in the department of surgery in the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He is the director of the Extracorporeal Life Support Service in the division of pediatric surgery and the program director for the pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children's Hospital Medical Center. He is also a Professor of surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

In 2003-2004 Brad served as the president of the Society of University Surgeons. He has also served in leadership positions in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Surgical Section, the American College of Surgeons, the American Pediatric Surgical Association and other organizations. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery, pediatric surgery, and surgical critical care.

Brad has contributed over 130 articles to journals including the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, American Journal of Physiology, and the American Journal of Surgery. He has written numerous book chapters and editorials/invited commentaries on various topics and has served on several editorial boards. In addition to a busy clinical practice caring for patients, Brad is the principle investigator on 2 NIH grants and runs a very productive basic science laboratory. He has trained and mentored multiple surgery residents and postdoctoral students in his research laboratory.

Brad has shared his talents as a visiting professor at places such as the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Calgary, to name a few. He has made numerous invited speeches and presentations in both the United States and Canada.

Brad is most proud of his family. He has been married to Barbara for 19 years. She is an outstanding neonatologist. Brad and Barbara have two wonderful children Lauren (age 13) and Emily (age 10).

Brad says of Parkway: "I have very fond memories of my time at Parkway North. The most influential aspects for me were my classmates – my best friend Greg Wirt and the friendships I still hold very dear – Andrea Cohen. A wonderful group of diverse and strong students."
